When does 007 First Light come out on Switch 2?

On Thursday, Mar 18, 2027. IOI calls it the confirmed date and gave no unlock hour; whether every region shares the day is not stated. That is almost ten months after the May 27, 2026 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Release Date and Times).

Why was 007 First Light delayed on Switch 2?

The date changed four times, and IOI gave a reason only for the last two:

On Apr 8, 2026, seven weeks before launch, IOI posted that the game would come to the other platforms on May 27 "and Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer", with no explanation. Its press releases kept saying summer, "in Summer 2026" on Aug 20, until the Sep 15 statement, which said the time would go toward "polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance of the game", with "the exact date to be communicated later". VGC counted that as the third Switch 2 delay, with IOI saying it wanted players to experience the game "as fully as possible".

In between, on Jul 28, 2026, MP1st reported an Amazon Japan listing dated Sep 16, 2026 at 8,910 yen. IOI never announced that date, and the March delay overtook it.

How much is 007 First Light on Switch 2?

• The GoldenEye Suit, an outfit.
• The four Deluxe outfits: Day of the Dead, Desert Explorer, Silent Anchor and Gentleman Operator.

Pre-ordering gives early access to the GoldenEye Suit at launch. A Switch 2 Special Edition with the Classic Tuxedo, the outfit that comes with the physical Specialist Edition on other platforms, is sold only through Amazon.com in the US. Pre-orders are open on the Nintendo Store, Amazon.com and at selected retailers. The editions on the other platforms are on Editions and Prices.

Whether the physical Switch 2 edition holds the whole game on the card is not known. The Amazon Japan listing of July described it as a Game-Key Card, which holds only a key and needs a download; that is an unconfirmed retailer listing, and IOI has not said.

How will 007 First Light run on Switch 2?

IOI has not published a resolution or frame rate for Switch 2. What is known:

• Hands-on Switch 2 builds were shown at gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show in 2026, and IOI said "feedback from both events has been positive".
• It plays handheld and docked.
• KitGuru judged the Oct 14 trailer a visual step down from PC and the other consoles, but smoother than earlier Switch 2 footage.
• IOI says the months before launch go to optimization and performance, so it "meets the standard players expect at launch".

0:02 Nintendo Life's Alex played a Switch 2 build, docked only, at gamescom 2026, and in his Aug 28, 2026 video called it "a visual downgrade" from the other platforms that "managed to maintain its 30fps target quite well" from what he could tell. That is a hands-on impression of a pre-release Switch 2 build, not a measurement.

Nintendo Life published an interview in September 2026 headlined "Some Compromises Are Inevitable", in which, by search summaries, producer Cristina Vega named a stable 30 fps as the priority, with lower-quality background assets but the same number of enemies and NPCs. The article itself could not be read for this page, so treat those details as reported, not confirmed. For comparison, the other consoles' modes are on PS5 and Xbox Performance Modes.

What will the Switch 2 version include?

IOI has not listed the Switch 2 version's content. By Mar 18, 2027 the other platforms will have had the free Extended Operations DLC, with New Game Plus, the 00 Difficulty, Photo Mode and the TacSim additions, and IOI has not said whether all of it ships on the Switch 2 card or download at launch. Not known as of Nov 4, 2026: the file size, the unlock hour, whether Japan and Europe share the date, and the final performance.
