Weapons
Bond starts 007 First Light with a service pistol and can only fire once License to Kill is earned; more guns are picked up in missions or unlocked in TacSim with Intel and Clearance Level. IOI has named five TacSim unlocks, and Gamewatcher's playthrough lists 22 weapons in all.
007 First Light starts Bond with a service pistol and the Q-Watch, and the rest of the arsenal comes two ways: guns you take from enemies during a mission, and guns you unlock for TacSim with Intel once your Clearance Level is high enough. IO Interactive has named five TacSim unlocks in its patch notes as of Hotfix 1.3.2 (Oct 29, 2026). The fullest list is Gamewatcher's, 22 weapons from its own run of the campaign and TacSim (Jul 21, 2026), which IOI has not confirmed. Guns are also gated by the story: Bond may only shoot once he has License to Kill, covered on Combat and Takedowns.

TacSim weapon unlocks
These are the weapons IOI itself has listed as TacSim rewards, with their price in Intel and the Clearance Level that opens them.

IOI's Aug 11, 2026 Steam post on the same unlocks wrote "Stormberg 40' CAL"; its patch notes and Gamewatcher both say 50'cal. IOI's notes also name a "Red Room Shotgun" in TacSim, whose crash after a kill was fixed in 1.1.0, but not how to get it. Intel and Clearance come from Escalations, Operations and their challenges; see TacSim and Outfits and Unlocks.
Gamewatcher's 22 weapons
Gamewatcher's list is the most complete one published, but it is one site's playthrough, and it says the list may change as TacSim adds content. It does not say which weapons appear in the campaign and which only in TacSim, and it writes "DRS-7 Silent SMG" where IOI writes "DRS-7 Silenced SMG".
| Type (by name) | Weapons |
|---|---|
| Pistols | Service Pistol (Walther PPK), Walther P99 (Agent's Mark), K&S Burst Pistol, Stormer-99 Pistol, Stormberg 50'CAL, Golden Gun, PDR-9 Pistol, Rex Silent Pistol |
| SMGs and machine pistols | SB-10 SMG, DRS-7 Silent SMG, DRX-2 Machine Pistol, TXK-BIOM, Osato 8 SMG |
| Shotguns | DRX 12 Gauge, Storm 12 Gauge |
| Rifles | T&M Compact, Zukovsky-95 AR, Storm Burst AR, Knight 1 AR, Osato 7 AR, K&S Bolt Action, Squire Marksman Rifle |
Source: Gamewatcher, Jul 21, 2026. The grouping is ours, from the names; the T&M Compact and TXK-BIOM are placed by guess.
Gamewatcher adds that the Service Pistol and the Walther P99 each have a silenced variant.
Is there a Walther PPK in 007 First Light?
Yes, according to Gamewatcher, which names the starting Service Pistol as a Walther PPK, the pistol long tied to Bond. Its list also has a Walther P99 under the name "Agent's Mark", which is the name of the Deluxe Edition's weapon skin on Steam; GamingBolt calls that skin a Pierce Brosnan-era look. IOI's own pages use the in-game names, and we found no IOI text that says "Walther".
How do you get the Golden Gun?
The Golden Gun skin comes with the physical Legacy Edition, which also has a Golden Gun figurine, the Obsidian Gold outfit and a steel case, per Insider Gaming ($299.99, see Editions and Prices). Gamewatcher lists a "Golden Gun" among the weapons without saying how it is obtained, and no source read describes a way to earn it in play, as of Nov 4, 2026.
Using guns well
Reviewers agree that shooting is tight but rarely the best answer. Shacknews called the gunplay "fairly tight" and the least compelling part of a fight, with explosive barrels, steam pipes and destructible cover adding options and armored guards closing out late levels. Ammunition is short: PlayStation LifeStyle found long open shootouts a chore because Bond keeps running low. Non-lethal shots exist too: leg shots and disarming, with Focus to slow time. An empty gun is still a weapon, since Bond can fling it to stagger an enemy and grab theirs.
Since 1.0.5 Bond carries one primary weapon; carrying more was a bug that IOI tied to save corruption on PS5. Update 1.3.0 (Oct 1, 2026) smoothed reloads, aiming transitions, weapon swaps and throws across the arsenal.
Which is the best weapon?
No guide site we read has ranked the weapons, and IOI publishes no damage or fire-rate numbers, as of Nov 4, 2026. What the sources do say: ammunition runs short in long fights, stealth and gadgets often beat a gunfight, and in TacSim the challenge list decides the loadout (IOI's notes name a "Shotgun Specialist" and an "Expert Marksman" challenge, among others).

Combat and TakedownsCombat in 007 First Light mixes free-flowing hand-to-hand (punches, grabs, parries, side-steps, throws and environmental slams) with gunplay that opens only once Bond earns License to Kill. Focus slows time for precise shots, and takedowns can be silent or loud. -
Outfits and Unlocks007 First Light's outfits come from the paid editions (four Deluxe outfits, the Specialist Edition's Classic Tuxedo, Obsidian Gold in the Collector's and Legacy), from TacSim unlocks bought with Intel at a Clearance Level, and from free events such as the IOI Account and Twitch drops. The Switch 2 Deluxe Edition adds the GoldenEye Suit.
