Nicholas Webb

Spoiler warning. Sir Nicholas Webb, CEO of Webb Industries and creator of MI6's AI THEIA, is the real villain of 007 First Light with his son Damien; Anthony Howell and Bart Edwards play them.

Spoiler warning: this page reveals who the villains of 007 First Light are and how the story ends for them. The real villains of 007 First Light are Sir Nicholas Webb, CEO of Webb Industries, and his son Damien, not the rogue agent 009 the story chases (Beebom). Anthony Howell plays Sir Nicholas and Bart Edwards plays Damien (Shacknews). Webb, an advocate of artificial intelligence, created THEIA, MI6's AI, and planned the bombing that sets the plot going to cover up THEIA's failures (GamingBolt).

Who is Sir Nicholas Webb?

He is the CEO of Webb Industries (Beebom), a tech magnate whose company holds a gala at a Kensington museum in Uninvited. There a sniper's earpiece first points Bond to him (Into Indie Games). GamingBolt sums up his plan: THEIA, the AI he built for MI6, had failed, and Webb arranged the bombing to hide it, while his people wrongly marked 009 as a mole (GamingBolt). Two Intel collectibles belong to the family: "Webb's Manuscript (Sir Nicholas Webb)" in Antarctica and "Psych Profile (Damien Webb)" in the Webb penthouse (PowerPyx).

Who is Damien Webb?

Damien is Sir Nicholas's son, "hot-headed yet charismatic" in Beebom's words (Beebom), and the one Bond fights. In Uninvited, Bond wakes tied up beside Isola and hacks Damien's phone mid-conversation. In Knightfall, Bond records Damien and his father in the penthouse while staying out of Damien's sight (Beebom). In Time to Die, Damien has Bond tied to a table at The Pearl until Greenway arrives as a sniper, and Bond chases him through a quarry (Into Indie Games). The credits spell his name "Damien"; some guides write "Damian".

How does the Webb story end?

In Wave of the Future, Bond and Isola go into Webb's research facility in Antarctica to shut down HYPERION. Bond learns of Webb's coup plan, and Isola shoots Sir Nicholas Webb, then tries to flee with the HYPERION core; Bond stops her and HYPERION is destroyed (Into Indie Games; Beebom). Before that, in Man of the Hour, MI6 had granted Webb immunity (Into Indie Games). After his death he receives a public ceremony, and the public never learns what he did (GamingBolt).

In For England, Damien attacks MI6 headquarters in an armored suit, stabs Moneypenny and takes THEIA's core. Bond weakens the suit with explosives and turrets and pushes Damien into the water, which disables it (Into Indie Games; Beebom). Whether Damien drowned is left open, and the THEIA core leaves with Isola (GamingBolt). See Ending Explained.

Is there more Webb story to come?

IO Interactive said on Aug 20, 2026 that players "will uncover new intelligence about Webb Industries" and investigate a technology that "could become one of Bond's deadliest opponents" (IO Interactive). As of Nov 4, 2026, no mission with that story has a name or date; see Year One Roadmap.
